Gold Nugget Days celebrate finding a 54 - pound gold nugget in 1859.  The celebration began in 1959 and has continued every year since.  The celebration of the discovery of the Dogtown nugget takes place in late April each year.

Red Suspenders Day began in 1961 as a dance to raise revenue for the volunteer firemen of Gridley. It is now a community-wide celebration spanning two days of family fun and events.
